This project has always been about more than music. Expansion is a tribute, a collective creation, and a labour of love shared with artists from PEI, Québec, Wales, and Sénégal. In honor of National Indigenous Peoples Day, we’re releasing the official video for « Teliaq, » featuring Julie Pellissier-Lush and dancer Tate Woolridge! The melody inspired us to approach Julie, inviting her to write some lyrics into its fabric. « Teliaq, » a term signifying “tru th” in Mi’kmaq, stands as a sincere homage to the survivors of residential schools.

We’ve joined forces with seasoned, formidable singer-songwriter CATHERINE MACLELLAN to create “Sauvage,” the bilingual, third single from our upcoming album EXPANSION which will feature seven different artists on its seven songs. “Sauvage” is available on all major platforms and the video will be out on YouTube on February 2nd.

Multiple award-winning Acadian roots duo (formerly trio) Vishtèn has joined forces with two members – Rowen Gallant and Jesse Périard – of highly acclaimed group Ten Strings & A Goat Skin, to create the second single and title track for the upcoming EP “Expansion”. The EP will feature six different artists on its six songs and is scheduled for release in the Spring of 2024.

Vishtèn Connexions, a groundbreaking musical project, was born out of love and a desire to honor the memory of Pastelle LeBlanc, twin sister of Emmanuelle LeBlanc and life partner of Pascal Miousse, and co-founding member of Vishtèn who passed away from breast cancer on April 8th, 2022 at the age of 42.

In this exceptional summer season, Vishtèn’s multi-award winning Acadian Celtic repertoire is amplified in a rare collaboration with invited Island musicians and visual story-telling as they introduce PEI to the beautiful and charming art form of the ‘crankie’.
